We are a small family business who create unique and bespoke items, favouring reclaimed timber, metal and sustainably sourced local timber. Whether it's a special gift, memento, or rustic furniture we can work with you to craft your special piece.Here at the emporium of the useful and curious we love to recycle end of life items into useful objects. We use everything from broken car parts to make garden burners to bits of plumbing to make candle holders. We believe almost anything can be given a new lease of life. From abandoned chairs to forgotten lamps, timber offcuts and even broken delivery pallets, we try to find a way to rejuvenate them and save them from being wasted.When we use fresh timber we source it from local and sustainable sources. Some comes from tree surgeons and home owners subject to availability. We get stock timber, both sawn and in logs, from local woodsmen and organisations.We do take on commissions if we believe we can provide what is requested. Such projects have included house name/number signs, custom furniture, personalised drinks glasses and memorial pieces. Almost all of our items can be personalised too if you want something to be extra special. In most instances your chosen item can be ready for collection from the shop the following week, or delivered locally though for smaller items we could post directly to you.You can find us in the Newport market every Friday and Saturday.
