This week we interviewed Nathan from Margaret's Farm. Nathan really 'knows his stuff' when it comes to home smoked and cured foods and with his background as a chef certainly gives him a breath of knowledge.
Nathan has been a chef for many years but due to the pandemic he decided to produce his own food for sale in the market on his stall 'Margaret's Farm' and elsewhere.
Nathan makes, marinates and smokes a variety of produce and enjoys spending time in his kitchen experimenting with different flavours.
On Margaret's Farm stall you will find olives, sun dried tomatoes, pate, chorizo, antipasti, cured meats, smoked salmon, smoked garlic, fermented garlic, vegan chees, purple potatoes and other unusual produce.
Nathan enjoys meeting customers and telling them about his produce. The market provides a great atmosphere for all stallholders to share their knowledge with the general public and because it's not a 'faceless environment' like supermarkets, the stallholders provide a more enjoyable shopping experience.
In his spare time Nathan likes to do anything to do with food such as experimental recipes and sourcing ingredients. He enjoys reading and travelling and has recently purchase a left hand drive campervan which he travels in together with Sid his dog.
There is often a gathering of folks around Nathan's stall learning and listening to him talk so passionately about his produce. Why not pop along and maybe you'll get a free sample!!!
